How Many People Do You Know?

The Effects of People

If you were to sit down and count the number of people that you know and that also know you, how big would this number be? Give it a try by writing down the names of everyone that you know, both close and not so close.

Some folks have a kind of personality known as “the connector” which causes them to connect all the time with many different people. They are continually gaining new contacts, friends and associates.

Are you one of these people? Probably not, but you wish you were because life would become easier if you knew more people.

Of course some folks see people as their main problem in life and would rather keep to themselves. That way you can avoid a lot of the problems you have had.

What Are Your Hopes and Dreams

Think now about what your hopes and dreams in life consist of. Do you desire to be wealthy, live in comfort, become famous, be in control of others?

No matter what you desire in life, there is one unavoidable consequence.

IT WILL ALWAYS INVOLVE OTHER PEOPLE

Whether you want to succeed in business or in ministry, it is always the same. Without other people you just cannot achieve your goals and dreams.

So the main key to success it so build something that we call

The Circle of Influence

Imagine you standing in the middle of a large circle of people who are all around you. From your center of the circle you can reach out and interact with each of these people. You can give out to them and also receive from them.

It does not take much sense to see that the more of these people there are, the more you can give out and also receive.

I am not concerned right now about your business goals or your natural aspirations. But I want to talk to you about your ministry. If you have a desire to do ministry, then you are probably looking for opportunities to rise up and become active and better known.

If you desire to start or run a church, then the more members you can have in that church the more successful you will be in ministry.

Moving From Small To Large

Many of us go through life comfortable with just a small group of people as our circle. It allows you to hide away and not be responsible to others. But if you hope to fulfill a ministry then your ministry is destined to fail before it even begins.

Without a wider circle of influence your ministry will never reach beyond those close to you and will never make an impact in this world. So where do you start in building a ministry of your own?

You cannot start by joining a local church. The ministry there is being carried out by the Pastor and other leaders, so there is no room for you to get involved. And even if they involve you, your role will likely be somewhat insignificant.

So here you stand, with a desire to minister that the Lord has put in your heart. You have knowledge and experience of the spiritual life to share with others. But there are very few people you know that you can minister to.

How Will Your Ministry Manifest?

I am sure that you have great faith in the Lord, and since He has called you, you expect that He will open a way for you to get involved in ministry. After all, if He called you, then He surely must have a plan to make sure that you carry out your calling right?

I am sure you know someone who has been waiting for years for the Lord to open the way for them to get into ministry. And they are either still waiting patiently or they have given up hope that it is ever going to happen.

Am I perhaps talking to you here?

The reality is that it does not lie in the hands of the Lord alone, or in the hands of others who may offer you an opportunity. It lies right there in your own hands.

You see God only works in this world through human channels. And unless you give Him something to work with and allow yourself to be a channel of His blessing, His hands are tied.

Here Is Your Starting Point

Having been where you are, I would like to share with you the very first key to finally fulfillng your ministry calling and building your very own ministry.

You might think that the starting point would be to study hard to qualify to become a minister. Then your qualification will begin to open new doors of opportunity for you.

I am sorry to tell you that even though this is important, it can never be your starting point for ministry. Because even if you are highly qualified and have much to give out, it is not enough. Without anyone to give out to, your ministry is dead in the water. And you will remain unknown and in obscurity.

So here is the simple solution and starting point for you to move into your ministry. Hold on to your seats as I announce the key to success in ministry.

YOU MUST GET TO KNOW MORE PEOPLE.

I know this is bad news for you introverts who like to avoid the crowd. And also for you workaholics who thrive on hard work and avoid too much contact with people.

More Steps to Come

There are many more steps after that to follow before you will rise up successful in your own ministry. But this one is key.

So I am offering to take you by the hand and show you how you can get started on this journey. I am going to show you the best way to get to meet and interact with other people.

Then I am going to show you what to do next once you have begun to build this new circle of influence.

If you are keen to learn this, then stick around and look out for my next publication, where I will show you how I learned to move from being a nobody who knew no one, to being the leader of an international ministry that is reaching believers at all levels.

Look out for my next Blog coming soon.

I know my circle of influence is not enough to bless very many people. So I am looking forward to how to expand this to be effective for Him and through Him. Thank you, and I am eager to see how this is done.
